Lo sbocco del mar Baltico, usato dalle petroliere dei porti russi, finlandesi e polacchi: 4,9 milioni di barili al giorno nel primo semestre 2025. Le navi a forte pescaggio prendono la Rotta T attraverso il Grande Belt, profonda al massimo circa 17 m e talvolta fino a 2 m in meno. Non è pubblicato un pescaggio massimo ufficiale, e un pilota è raccomandato da 11 m. La scorciatoia del canale di Kiel accoglie solo piccole petroliere.
