How buying a cargo from WetCargo works.
Buying a cargo
How do I buy a cargo?
Price it in the calculator: choose a grade, a quantity and the discharge port; we load the cargo where the delivered price is lowest. Press “Send request” and sign in with the code we email you. Our desk checks the request and confirms the price, then the cargo is paid for, loaded, sails and is delivered.
Your account shows each step with its date, and we email you when a step changes. You can write to the desk on the request's page at any time.
What do you sell, and from where?
Only Russian oil: export crude (Urals, ESPO Blend, Siberian Light, Sokol, Sakhalin Blend) and the refined products Russia exports. The catalog shows what is in stock now. Every cargo loads at a Russian export terminal; you can deliver to any port in the list.
How much can I order?
It depends on the cargo: crude from 55,000 to 140,000 tonnes, a Panamax to a Suezmax cargo (about 398,000 to 1,011,000 barrels of Urals); diesel, gasoline, jet fuel and naphtha from 30,000 to 90,000 tonnes, an MR to an LR2 tanker. These are the usual export lots at Russian terminals. The calculator shows the same limits in barrels for the grade you choose and picks the tanker class that fits.
Prices
Why can the confirmed price differ from my quote?
When it confirms, the desk may give a discount or add a surcharge, at most 25% of the quoted total either way, with a note that explains it. You see the note in your account and on the proforma invoice. The quote itself is stored as it was and never changes.
What if prices change before I send my request?
We work the price out again when you press “Send request”. If it has changed since you looked, no request is made: the page shows the new price and you decide again.
What are the extra services?
Options you tick under the price: an independent inspection, tank cleaning, a guaranteed loading window, and on routes through the Strait of Hormuz or the Red Sea, extra war-risk insurance with an escort or a security team. See the services.
The strait services do not buy permission to pass. These are international waters and nobody sells a right of passage; what we arrange is insurance, protection and a transit plan.
Can I book a strait passage without buying a cargo?
Yes, for any tanker: after signing in, send a passage request with the vessel's name, IMO number, flag, size, cargo and the date you want to pass. Our desk checks the documents, confirms the price, arranges the insurance and the convoy, and tells you when you are cleared to sail, with a printable Transit clearance.
